Introduction

Admins have the option to set up new drivers, inspectors, and have the option to create users in bulk volume as well. Let's take a look at these features in detail.


Setting up a user

To set up a new user, login to the ClearQuote web dashboard with your Admin credentials.

  1. Navigate to the 'Users' option in the web dashboard. You will see a list of users already setup for your account.
  2. Click on the 'Add new user' tab.




Here, you will see some fields to enter details in, as well as some info cards that describe the various user roles and their permissions.

  1. Select the user type from the dropdown list. The corresponding user role card will be automatically highlighted based on the selected role.
  2. Enter the details of the user. Note that fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory.
  3. The User ID can be the same as the Email, if required.
  4. The password must be secure; containing upper and lower case letters, at least one number, at least one special character, and at least 8 characters in length.
  5. Click "Create User" to finish creating the user.



Bulk user creation

If you need to setup a large number of users, you can opt for bulk user creation option. Login to the ClearQuote web dashboard with your Admin credentials.

  1. Navigate to the 'Users' option in the web dashboard. You will see a list of users already setup for your account.
  2. At the top right, you will see a search bar, which can be used to search for Names, usernames, etc already linked to your account.
  3. Next to the search bar, you will see a Download button and a  Bulk User Upload button.
  4. Click on the Download button. A template file will be downloaded to your machine.




The template file is a spreadsheet that makes bulk user creation easier. It has 2 sheets, the first is where you can enter the details of the users to be created. The second sheet can be referred for info on user roles, username and password policy, etc.

  1. Open the template spreadsheet using a compatible program such as Microsoft Office or Google Sheets.
  2. The sheet will contain some examples of how to fill up user details. These must be deleted before filling up the sheet.
  3. Enter in the details of the users to be created under the necessary columns. Some columns will have dropdowns to help select the right options.
  4. If required, refer the second sheet for detailed instructions.
  5. Once this is done, save the spreadsheet.
  6. Navigate back to the web dashboard Users page, and click on the 'Bulk User Upload' button.
  7. Select the file you just saved, and upload it.
  8. The users will be created, and a report will be generated.
  9. In case any of the users have any invalid entries, these users will not be created and a report will be generated to your email address with error details.
